Interview 2 - Completed.

Today, I conducted the interview with Jemma Rodgers, who - being the former head of comedy in BBC Scotland - gave great answers, and even though I'm not entirely sure what my package is going to be like yet, I'm sure that several of the things she mentioned will be a great addition to the final product. These are the questions that I asked Jemma:

1. what do you look for in a comedy?
2. why do you think it's hard for scottish comedy shows to be shown all across the uk?

- is it a slang issue? different types of humour?
 

3. do you see a large difference between scottish comedy and comedies from england and elsewhere?
4. if you see a scottish comedy that you like, do you think about how it would work elsewhere?
5. what do you take in to account when commissioning a show? If someone was writing a comedy, should they focus on making it appealling to everyone, or just scotland?

I got great answers. One of the things I'm worried about is my recording. It was quite a large, echo-y room that we recorded it in, and my mic handling can be heard at times. But it's nothing major, and I'm sure I can work around it when it comes to choosing what's going to appear in the final package. There's also one bit where I mistakingly speak, as if having a conversation, which I regretted immediately afterwards. But it's only the one time, and a large chunk of the interview is definitely useable, because as i've said, she gave some great answers.

Interview Planned

I have an interview planned with the former head of Comedy at BBC Scotland, Jemma Rodgers. Annoyingly, I missed the chance to take out college equipment, due to the college being shut, but I'll hopefully be able to take out a Zoom H2 to record it next week.

I shall write more about this interview at a later date, when I have the questions all planned out.
