Planning the one-hour show

Today, Liam and I went in to college early and started putting together a rough plan for the one hour show. With Jen gone, that's even more time to fill. If all of our packages lasted the minimum of 6 minutes (unlikely, but possible) that's only 24 minutes out of 1 hour covered.

We then started thinking about the ways we could fill the rest of that time. And i had an idea of little interviews with the producer of each package. So you'd hear the package being played, and then a short pre-recorded interview with the person who made it, asking them why they decided to make this package, what do they want people to take away from it, things like that. We thought that these interviews should last about 2 minutes. And the group discussion about 7. Here's what Liam wrote on a whiteboard, as part of our rough plan:

So that's:
1. introduction to the show, and that it's going be all about scottish exports.
2. the group discussion about scottish exports.
3. Hassan's package
4. Interview with Hassan, about his package.
5.  Liam's package
6. A comic excerpt (which goes with L's package)
7. Interview with Liam, about his package
8. My package
9. Interview with Gareth Waugh
10. Song
11. Allan's Package
12. Interview with Allan, about his package.
13. Conclusion
14. Song

Some points:

  • Songs - We feel that we can include songs, as they will relate to Allan's package on scottish music exports; they won't just be picked at random, or just because they're popular right now.
  • No Interview with me - Yeah, I'm not sure if there should be a little interview about me and my package, as I'm also going to be talking to Gareth about what's in my package. So if that interview does last 10 minutes, that's roughly 17 minutes on my package topic alone, which is maybe a bit too much.
